Do not know what to do on Saturday in Lanzarote? That is because you are not aware that Canarias International Jazz Festival is holding now. This Saturday, July 9, in the tent of Teguise fair, Fatoumata Diawara, Gangbé Brass Band and Nayaband offer best of African jazz.
The most attractive leisure and entertainment comes this weekend from African music and folklore. It's a free concert held in one of the most central places of the island. It is scheduled to begin from 9:00 pm. Marconfort Atlantic Gardens Bungalows specially recommends it.
Gangbé Brass Band are on stage since 1994.They are 10 Benin musicians who follow their own tradition and culture of their ancestors. In Fon language, Gangbé means "sound of metal". They mix voodoo and juju music rhythms with typical big band brass instruments.
Fatoumata Diawara is an Ivorian whose origins go back to Mali. Based in France, she was a prodigy child who sang from the age of 10. She is an actress, songwriter, dancer and singer. Bring new folk-inspired sounds of traditional Wassoulou music with jazz and blues proper tools.
Nayaband is a group of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria formed around Senegalese singer Nayaban Jean. Their first album, Globalización, was a great success. Now they seek their consolidation with Hope. His style is difficult to define because of the range of nuances and influences they show.
