Carl Winther Trio, Headlining Eivissa Jazz Festival 2011

Ibiza will become the European capital of jazz through the festival led by Danish Carl Winther last week of August. After winning first prize in the Getxo Festival, the young pianist comes to the island ready to emerge as one jazz great.
The Ibiza Jazz Festival held in late August its fifth edition. The event has become a complete sample of big band swing, funk-jazz, jazz-rock, latin, blues, etc...
Carl Winther Trio is composed of a Danish musician (Carl Winther) and two Swedes (Joel and Johan Illerhag Kolsut), who began performing together in summer 2006 and soon realized it offered "something new". In 2009 they recorded their first album, Contact, the subjects had been composed by Carl Winther, and influences ranging from hard bop to the Nordic soundscapes.
Quartetto Minimum won program of the Institute of Youth Creation of Youth (Injuve), and are also selected band to perform in next Eivissa Jazz. Quartetto Minimo is a new formation composed of French-Colombian Sebastian Spang, Greco- Spanish Nico Arzimanoglou, French-Spanish brothers Ilan and Eliaz Hercelin.
