Comer y beber en Ibiza

Ibiza's cuisine combines best of sea and land. Typical dishes of this Mediterranean island taste of frontier and cultural mix.

Despite being a small island, the list of specialties of Ibiza is not short. Among the highlights of rock fish and seafood: the 'borrida de ratjada' (ray stew), 'bullit de Peix' (fish soup), 'a banda' rice, lobster 'caldereta' (stew) and fried octopus, just to list a few. If you prefer meat, do not forget to try  'sofrit de pages', which mixes various meats. High quality sausages as 'mallorquina' and 'butifarro' have a unique flavor in the world. The desserts and liqueurs... Neverending story.

Because to smell and taste is better than to read, Marconfort El Greco Hotel advises its customers some of the best restaurants on the island.

Portinatx is not very large, but at its old town there is S'arenal, an exclusive restaurant with a varied and complete menu, and a stunning sea views terrace. Slightly cheaper is the Cafeteria Real, a very friendly local who also has got a full assortment of rice, meat and fish.

In Sant Joan de Labritja, El Greco's staff has always preferred the Bar del Cura. Typical dishes of high quality, reasonable prices. This restaurant stands out for its service, composed of people of the island. The desserts are simply amazing (not for people on a diet).

A little far from El Greco, about 25 kilometers, in San Carlos, Can Aneta, famous hippie bar, is a nice local notable for its herbal liquor. Especially advised on Saturday, it coincides with hippies market.

Ibiza's old town is really full of bars and restaurants. Most are very tourist, so it is advisable to take time to find something in the suburbs. Very near to port is La Brasa, although prices are not very  affordable, terrace and quality of its dishes are worth the outlay.

On Aragon street, Vara del Rey, the list never ends ... Our recommendations are on the table, enjoy the adventure of eating and discover the culture of the senses in Ibiza. And 'bon profit'.
