Lanzarote receives best players of Spain in children's basketball
Lanzarote hosts the thirty-second edition of the Championship of Spain Children, which will take place from 19th to 25th June. 32 teams (550 participants aged between 13 and 14) fought to gain twisted in possession of DKV Joventut, who won the 2010 edition in Asturias.
The first phase matches will be played in Municipal de Teguise Hall, Palacio de los Deportes de Argana, Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote, Pavilion Blas Cabrera Felipe (Arrecife) and the Municipal Pavilion of Haria.
For its part, the second round will be held at the Palacio de los Deportes Argana and the Municipal Pavilion of Teguise, while the latter compound will be hosting the finals of this competition (semifinals and final).
Grubati Basketball Club, organizer of this event, manages data from the National Junior experience in 2010, which also took place in Lanzarote, anticipates 1,700 people involved in the tournament, coupled with players, coaches and families, a stay of nine days for the most part.
Estimated the economic impact of the event will be around one million euros. "The figure breaks down as follows: 720,000 euros in room and board, € 200,000 in purchases and tickets to the Centers for Arts, Culture and Tourism, and, finally, 100,000 euros in buses, taxis and rental cars."
The semifinals and final of this year's Championship will be offered in Spain Children live by Radio Television Canaria Group, through the second channel of Televisión Canaria and the International Channel. There will also be daily summaries of the various reports of the regional body.
