Mancha Blanca Prepares for its Fiestas

The celebrations in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows, in the village of
Mancha Blanca, are one of the most anticipated in Lanzarote, as the
Virgin is the patroness of the island and for whom the miracle of
halting nothing less than a volcanic eruption.
Every September 15th a mass pilgrimage in which many Lanzarote people,
as well as visitors from other islands and tourists from around the
world take part. The march culminates in Mancha Blanca, where various
events to celebrate this fiesta are organized.
There ends the pilgrimage, and there the lava stopped just at the
entrance of the village on the volcano's last eruption of Timanfaya in
1824.
Last Tuesday, the mayor of Tinajo met with representatives of police,
emergency corps and associations to plan festive celebrations, which
60,000 people are expected to assist
During the Fiestas of 'Nuestra Señora de los Dolores', in Mancha Blanca
Craft Fair Island of Lanzarote is held, a sample of manufacturing, with
more than one hundred craftsmen, live musical performances and the Folk
Festival Nanino Diaz Cutillas Janine Diaz.
